Being a guest on the “Nerd on Tour”-Podcast

At the beginning of 2024, I was travelling around the Southern part of Thailand. It wasn’t a random decision. My friend Piotrek has a very similar nomadic lifestyle. We make sure to cross paths at least once a year intentionally. While staying in Koh Lanta at KohHub, we explored together and enjoyed the Thai New Year with a water battle.

One day, Piotrek asked me to be a guest on his podcast. I for sure said yes and was up for something new. I never talked on a podcast. But my lifestyle is definitely a good fit for his podcast and the audience. Here we go, a couple of days later. Piotrek sent me a bunch of questions beforehand so I could go through and prepare a bit. Then we booked the Skype Booth at the co-working and recorded the podcast.

Let me quote the intro text of the podcast here:

Marc Wieland – Swiss location-independent web developer in his twenties roaming the globe
Passion for traveling, chatting with locals, and landscape photography is what inspires Marc to be nomadic. Thanks to his determination, he found a Swiss web agency, that allows him to work four days a week and from anywhere. Listen to Marc’s full story about how he started, how he uses Tinder to find local friends, not hookups, and what is the most fun summer activity in Bern, the capital of Switzerland.

We had a blast doing this 2-hour podcast recording. The talk went deep, and Piotrek did a great job asking excellent questions and put a loxt of effort into the editing later.

I’d like to quickly list the topics we covered, along with the time code, so that you can find the interesting parts for yourself. If you have a 2-hour trip ahead of you (by car, train, or aeroplane), feel free to listen to the full episode.
